Dog Carriers and Totes
14 Jul 2009
Sure there will be times that you’ll need to carry your dog with you especially during a weekend long drive or a three-day vacation out of town. Just like any member of the family, you want your pooch to be comfortable all throughout the trip.
Dog carriers are very much important, especially if you have tiny breeds of dogs like dachshund, Shih Tzu, Chihuahua, or pug. Our cute little buddies will be much comfy if we’ll carry them on a dog carrier or tote during a shopping spree at the mall, rather than walking them on a leash. Moreover, it will be much comfortable for the dog owner as well; since she’ll be assured that her pet will not be messing around.
Dog carriers are only suited for little dogs, of course that’s very obvious. You wouldn’t want your bulldog or Great Dane to carry them on your back; but instead, using a collar and a leash will be more appropriate to use for them.
Dog carriers come in different styles. There are the tote ones, the hand bag type, a backpack, a stroller type, and other designs you can choose from.
Again and again, first thing to consider is their safety. Is the dog carrier well ventilated for your pooch to breathe enough air while his inside it? You should also take into consider the size of the carrier that you will buy, to perfectly match with the size of your dog. Although carriers come in different sizes and styles, if your dog can turn around inside the carrier, the better. There should be enough space inside for your pet to move freely. And it should also be comfortable for him. You can also provide him a toy inside so as not to make him bored.
Choosing for a quality dog carrier is very much important, since it will be used by your beloved pet for a long time. Just be sure to keep in mind the tips given above to be certain that your dog would be safe and would love to stay inside his carrier.
