Fleas and ticks are definitely annoying for both the dog and his owner- so knowing the best proper care for your dog is very much necessary.
First of all, do you realize why and how these pests got onto our dog’s skin? Here are some possible reasons.
One possible cause is when your dog got to play with other pet that’s already infected with ticks or fleas. These pests may have been transferred to your dog as well.
Also, if you are not quite sure if your area is rodent-free, then you can never be sure that your pet is pest-free. Since these rodents can be carriers of ticks, these can later on be transferred to your dog and will be much irritating to him.
Ticks and fleas also resides in the woods or in tall grasses, so if you have that kind of area around, better keep your pets away from it to avoid being infected with these pests.
But if things became uncontrollable, there are many kinds of medications and remedies that you can do to kill those pests that reside on your dog. You have many alternatives to choose from on how to cure it. You can either choose for natural or chemical medications to be applied on your canine’s skin, although it is safer to ask first for a veterinarian’s advice before putting anything on his skin, which may eventually worsen the situation, if done in a wrong way.
There are many ticks and fleas remedies for dogs that are available in the market. These are formulated to be safe for your pets, but definitely deadly for the pests. But to be more assured, having a regular checkup with their vet is always advised.
Keeping your dog healthy all the time and giving him the right food and nutrients that he needs can make him more resistant to tick and fleas; but if prevention is not successful, there are still many remedies and cures to take into consider, in eliminating those pests that causes irritation, annoyance and even itchy bites to our beloved pooch.
